    Cycling at the 2008 Olympic Games

    Cycling competitions at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held from August 9 to August 23 at the Laoshan Velodrome, Laoshan Mountain Bike Course, Laoshan BMX Field and Urban Cycling Road Course.

    18 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:

    • Cycling Track Team Sprint Men
    • Cycling Track Sprint Men
    • Cycling Track Keirin Men
    • Cycling Track Team Pursuit Men
    • Cycling Track Individual Pursuit Men
    • Cycling Track Madison Men
    • Cycling Track Points Race Men
    • Cycling Track Sprint Women
    • Cycling Track Individual Pursuit Women
    • Cycling Track Points Race Women
    • Cycling Road Mass Start Men
    • Cycling Road Time Trial Men
    • Cycling Road Mass Start Women
    • Cycling Road Time Trial Women
    • Cycling Mountain Bike Men
    • Cycling Mountain Bike Women
    • Cycling BMX Race Men
    • Cycling BMX Race Women

    2008 Olympic Games

     

    The events programme for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is quite similar to that of the Athens Games held in 2004. The 2008 Olympics will see the return of 28 sports, and will hold 302 events (165 men’s events, 127 women’s events, and 10 mixed events), one more event in total than in Athens.The following are the sports to be contested at the games (The number of events to be contested in each sport is indicated in parentheses):
